The key to utilizing RTM successfully is to start using it: Login to the RTMDx software. Start making risk terrain models on a small scale, for an acute problem, or with “practice” data. In fact, use any data that is readily available to get-the-feel for producing risk terrain models and maps. Review outputs and practice designing risk reduction strategies informed by the spatial intel. Visit the Resources and RTM in Practice pages to learn how RTM helps problem solve in ways that can be articulated and results can be measured. Once you get started, you’ll quickly realize that RTM informs decisions about where to go to address problems, what to do when you get there, and why to do it. Understanding why is important for doing actions with intent and then measuring outcomes so you can claim success.
