Onboarding

Your subscription to the Simsi Suite and professional development training includes access to both people and information
STEP 1 (week 1):
Start with a tailored Training Plan to focus on your local needs and immediate priorities. It's easy to do in one Zoom meeting.  Click here to schedule your live remote meeting with a Simsi Instructor, or email us directly at [email protected] to suggest dates/times that work well for you sometime this week or next. During this meeting we'll frame your goals for using the Simsi Suite. Then develop a 'technology starting point' and Training Plan customized to achieve the outcomes you want within the timeframe required. We'll also discuss data needs and sources so you can hit-the-ground running with the software.

STEP 2 (week 2):
You'll use the software. Written guides (1 or 2-page documents) and video tutorials (a few minutes each) let you learn-by-doing asynchronously, at your leisure. These materials will introduce you to the software interface and teach practical insights for working with the tools and analytic outputs. You'll work with real data. So when you meet with your Simsi Instructor again, you can discuss real results.

STEP 3 (week 3):
Meet again online with the Simsi Instructor to review your progress with self-guided training and do some Q&A about the software, data inputs, and analytic outputs. You'll also learn how to turn the outputs into actionable reports and other deliverables for public safety.
[You will pre-schedule this live remote session during STEP 1]

STEP 4:
Schedule regular check-ins with the Simsi Instructor (such as every 2-3 weeks) to continue your professional development. Earn certifications from Rutgers University based on your training and reports.
